Find Your
Perfect
Course Topic
A simple 3-step framework to discover what you already know — and turn it into an online course women (and the world) will pay for.
Before We Start
You Already Know Enough.
The most common thing I hear from women who want to create a course is:
"But what do I even know that's worth teaching?"

The answer? More than you think. You've been solving problems, learning skills, and figuring things out your whole life. We just need to find the right one.
The Golden Formula
Your best course topic lives at the intersection of
what you know + what others struggle with
+ what people will pay to solve.

Important: You don't need to be a world-class expert. You just need to be a few steps ahead of your student. If you've solved a problem someone else is stuck on — you have a course.

Step 1 of 3
Mine Your Own Life
Answer these questions honestly. Don't overthink — write the first thing that comes to mind. Your course topic is hiding in these answers.
Question 01
What do friends and family always ask YOU for help with?
Think about the last 3 times someone said "can you help me with…" or "how did you do that?"
Question 02
What have you figured out the hard way — that you wish someone had just told you?
Your struggle is someone else's starting point. Your shortcut is their treasure.
Question 03
What could you talk about for hours without getting bored?
You'll be living and breathing this topic for months — in your content, your marketing, your students' questions. It has to be something that doesn't drain you.

Step 2 of 3
Check the Market
A great topic that nobody wants to pay for is a hobby, not a business. Here's how to quickly check if your idea has real demand — for free.
1
Search it on Google & YouTube
Type your topic + "how to" or "tutorial". If there are already courses and videos on it — that's a GOOD sign. It means people are actively searching for it.
✓ "How to start a food blog", "budgeting for moms tutorial", "how to learn Canva"
2
Look at Facebook Groups & Reddit
Search for groups related to your topic. What questions come up again and again? Every repeated question is a course lesson waiting to be created.
✓ "Is there any easy way to…", "I'm so lost with…", "Can someone explain how to…"
3
Check if people already pay for it
Search your topic on Udemy, Teachable, or Etsy. If you find paid courses or guides — congratulations. The market is validated. You don't need to be first. You need to be better for your audience.

Niches that sell well for women 30+/40+: parenting hacks, career pivots & reinvention, meal planning, budgeting & financial independence, returning to work, building online income, crafts & creative skills, language learning, health & wellness, midlife confidence, organizing, baby sleep routines, empty-nest reinvention.

Step 3 of 3
Validate Before You Build
Don't spend weeks building a course nobody wants. This simple checklist tells you if your topic is ready — or if you need to refine it first.
✅ Green Flags
  • ✓ People actively search for it online
  • ✓ You see others selling something similar
  • ✓ People complain about this problem in groups
  • ✓ You've personally solved this problem
  • ✓ You could teach it in a clear step-by-step way
  • ✓ The result is specific and measurable
⚠️ Warning Signs
  • ✗ The topic is extremely broad ("be happier")
  • ✗ You can't find anyone else selling it
  • ✗ The result is vague or hard to measure
  • ✗ You're not sure who exactly it's for
  • ✗ You chose it because it's trendy, not because you know it
Your Topic Is Ready When You Can Say:
"I help [specific person] to [specific result]
in [specific timeframe] — even if [biggest objection]."
Example: "I help busy women create their first online course in 6 weeks — even if they have no tech skills or business background." (Timeline varies by individual.)
